Also an advice which you probably already know. I am guessing that your insurance is through your parents and that they are the primary holders. Put your name on the cheapest and oldest car insured in your policy to get the cheapest cost of insurance. If your family happens to have an old corolla or van, put your name on it and make that your primary car and it should lower your insurance. However, since you had an SUV, S4 and IS250 by the age 18, I highly doubt your family would have a cheap car like that but worth the shot.

I have the cheapest car by far....family's cheapest car among my sibblings is mine followed by the 335i, slk350, X5, M3, M5(the M5 was a hand me down from my parents to my third oldest sibbling). Parents drive the 550i, s600, and 911 turbo. Ya my family loves their german cars... my father was disappointed that I didn't get one. People think well off people spend money like nothing, but in reality many are penny pinchers -how else do you think they got rich..by investing... I know guys in bentleys and ferraris who are too cheap to go to vallet parking.

It's not insurance fraud. Your still insured for all cars including the IS350 but just make your primary car a cheaper vehicle. Like my brother, his going to be driving a 2003 Matrix soon but he will be insured through my parents who is insured with a Highlander, Previa and Matrix but he will declare that his primary car is the 93 Previa. He's still insured on whatever car he drives within the family, or whatever car he drives for that matter but it won't be as expensive because his "primary" vehicle is the cheapest one.
But as I expected, IS350 is the cheapest car they have so it won't work either way.

I'm glad I moved to Texas...my insurance dropped almost in half, and I lost my multi-car discount, good student discount, and such.
There's quite a few tricks to play. Take the higher deductible if you can (I found this dropped almost $500/year for every $250 increase), drop any duplicate coverages you may have or things you don't need (eg, my company will pay for rental car insurance, so i don't need to). Multi-car discounts, defensive driving classes, lo-jack, etc.

being an insurance agent, it sounds like your paying a little much, but we have the lowest rates in the state so who am i to say? by comparason your paying way too much but rates vary from state to state.
i will say that being 18 and having already had an at fault accident so soon im not suprised to see you pay a lot, but i think its a little on the high side i pay about 800 a year for full coverage on my lex at 250/500/100 limits and a 1 million dollar umbrella

I was going to recommend that you voluntarily go to a cheaper car so your parents don't have to pay as much to insure you, but based on the skewed sense of reality in this thread, I'd say you have nothing to worry about - go for it! Hell, why not trade up to something with 12 cylinders?
