Exclamation bent oil pan Need new one--Where to buy and how much

Okay, I made a mistake today while changing my oil. I accidentally jacked my car up with the oil pan. It is dented ina good amount.

I proceed to lower it back down and found the correct jack point...I went ahead and changed the oil and everything runs and seems fine.

Should I worry about this or should I get a new one? If I do then how hard would it be to change it out? It just looks like I need to take out the screws, lower it down and use a new gasket...can't be any worse then when I changed my Dodge's differential fluid...

Thanks for any help.

err... i woulda lowered the car, drain oil, unbolt the pan, put it on a flat surface, use a rubber mallet and a small 2x4 to see if it could be pounded out... BUT thats just me.

THEN since its off, take it to a chrome shop

If I remember correctly the IS oil pan has a small narrow shape to it. Should be easy to install a new one.

I would buy a new oil pan even if there is no leak.

This is what I did with my first Supra when the jack slipped off the crossmember. It was a real PITA though because I had to raise the engine off the mounts to get the pan out. It's also not especially easy to get the pan off because there are no gaskets, only the famous black Toyco RTV sealant.

Yeah, well, I broke the same piece the same way. I just fixed it myself is all. Unfortunately experience is directly related to the size of your bent, broken, twisted, and burned parts pile. Any decent mechanic who says he's never broken anything is either lying or not a mechanic.

Hey... i've NEVER BROKEN NETHING, never stripped a headder bolt/spark plug, scratched a journal NOTHING IN THE ENGINE BAY/DRIVELINE *dont ask about the int *, I dont consider wrong size jets in a carb as broken, too much gasket sealer either... yea extra bolts dont count if the car still runs right?
