Question Power steering not working at higher speeds

Dear All,

I have bought in recently 2006 model IS250. I have experienced a problem when moving at high speeds. When travelling around 120-140Km/Hr on cruise control, the steering grip feel to cut off and the steering doesn't respond to the mild torque to keep the car on track. Usually when this happens I have to provide extra torque on the steering wheel so that the car ends up wobbling very slightly. Can anyone analyze this issue because I don't have a problem with this being like this now, but worried if this issue is going to sustain and cause panic. I feel the power steering is not working at high speeds.

The car was having worn out tires when bought and I thought at first this was the reason but I had changed it to brand new Michelin tires and still the problem persists.

I have gone to a mechanic to fix this but I couldn't demonstrate to him because it happens on high speeds and after a couple of kms of riding.

Please anybody felt like this or got it fixed, please let me know the probable cause.
