Nail in tire....need new tire...get 1 or 2??
I just found out that I have a nail in the shoulder of my rear tires tread and it's not possible to patch. Do I have to get 2 new rear tires or can I get away with just replacing the one damged tire? I have 10,000 miles on my tires and they are still in pretty good condition. I just got my car in March....
I was thinking about changing to the Potenza RE050 Pole Position tires when they all wore down, but it looks like I'm going to be stuck with the OEM RE050's for a little while longer....

I'd say one tire and do some one wheeled burn outs to catch the new one up.
FWIW, I haven't liked any potenza that I've tried due to weak treadlife, noise, tramming, and uneven wear towards the end. Don't read 140 treadwear and see 30k miles, cuz it ain't happenin'....expect more like 10-12k decent miles before they annoy the hell out of you.
P.S. Take that with a grain of salt because its just one person's anecdotal evidence.
