How many miles do you have on it now? Mixed driving at various RPMs is best for the car in the first 500 miles IMO

I drove my brand new IS from the dealer in El Monte to Marina Del Rey. I did my break-in on the engine and bedded brakes on the way. I then drove it from Marina Del Rey to Highland and from Highland to home in Sacramento. In the first two days I drove the car ~650 miles with most of it on freeways.

It does not burn oil, it ran well at the racetrack, and I have had zero powertrain issues. I have also had perfectly normal oil analysis results.

Do it. You'd have a hard time hurting the car with just a 350 mile road trip.

^^I've got you beat, Lance. I drove my IS350 straight off the Sewell dealership lot onto Interstate 20. Two days and 1,400 miles later, I pulled into my driveway in Beverly Hills. I couldn't have had more fun... When you buy a new car, what do you want to do? DRIVE IT. I got to listen to my tunes driving my brand new car halfway across the country, uninterrupted. The drive was beautiful, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. The only caveat was that I didn't use the cruise control, because I wanted to vary engine speeds and gears for the break-in.

Just as long as you drive with varying speeds, and without red-lining it, you'll be fine...

Just drove the IS from LA to Norcal area. The drive was greaaat! I enjoyed every moment of it. I varied engine speeds like you guys all said. The ride is really smooth. One thing about the IS250 is that you have to press the gas A LOT to get power and pass. But other than that, the ride is niiice.

took it for a round trip from LA to SF when my 2is had ~2.7k miles.

you buy the 2is to drive it, not use it as an expensive paperweight.
