Hi Everyone,
I have been browsing the forum for a while, its been a great site to visit, so i figured I should register. Like any new owner I have a couple ideas I to run by everyone. (i have searched..)
So far I love the car its a 07 IS 350 -premium package - hid, and a couple other small items. One thing that bugs me however is the lack of the LMS memory system. Has anyone though of adding it? I was wondering if I could maybe add it piece by piece. For example, does anyone have any idea if the autotilt mirrors would work without the memory system? Only the tilt in reverse portion, unrelated to the memory function but would be nice. If I gathered more parts, may work with the memory sys as well.
It looks to me like you could add the memory buttons to the door panels and the memory ecu as well. Obviously the steering wheel would probably be the toughest part, but I wouldn't bother swapping it out if the seats & mirrors worked. I haven't taken the door panels off to see if the wiring harness is there, but im betting its not.
Now that I have written a novel, I should share a feature that I noticed on my car that I haven't seen discussed in the forum.. If you look at the plastic seatbelt guide, at the top of the backseat on the driver or pass side, grab the front part of it and pull towards you. The front half should slide forward about an inch or two, I'm not sure what its for but thought it was worth mentioning anyway.
Cheers!

Yeah, my wife's 2005 Toyota Sienna has the same feature. You can adjust the seatbelt so that it doesn't rub against your neck.

humm i tired looking at the back panel of the car its is more work and time to put it in then it is to add the option when you buy the car. Its will take a long time and parts are hard to come by in slavage yards. Kudos to you if u can make it work

Memory seats? That will be one very expensive project to add to the car. It's a factory-installed option, not a port-installed option, which means you have to "disassemble" more parts to do it, much less get into the computer system of the car to integrate it. Adding the motor to both seats won't be that cheap either...
