Default flat tire advice

so i hit something on the way home from work on friday and my tire went flat instantly. I took it over to firestone and they told me it needs to be replaced but they do not have my tire in stock and they could not find one at any of there other locations. So i called lexus and made an appoitment for tomorrow. Should i keep driving on the flat until i can get to a tire place that has my tire in stock or jsut get it fixed at lexus tomorrow? I have been driving on it for 2 days now and i really dont want to keep pushing it.

You can't possibly be serious. I'm assuming you're driving on the spare...otherwise your rim is trashed by now, and you're probably starting to see sparks when you drive.

Make sure you use a matching replacement tire. Bite the bullet and pay for one that does.

Why not replace the flat with the spare? It can't be good for your safety and rim to keep driving on a flat.

Do you mean you are driving on the spare donut, or on the deflated tire? If it is the donut you should be ok till you get to the Lexus dealer. If you are driving on the deflated original tire STOP THIS INSTANT. If you haven't ruined the rim alreay you will shortly.

maybe the way i worded it made it seem like im driving on the flat...i assumed it is common sense that i would fix it...yes i am riding on the spare...it is funny to see my nice clean new car with a bright yellow rim!!! so i should just go to lexus instead of a tire place?

You have to replace it with the same size, brand and style as the opposite wheel. If the tire shop doesn't have it, you are probably stuck with getting it from the Lexus dealer. Don't mismatch tires.

True that. Same thing happened to me on my way to work on morning. I had to take it the the dealer to get the same tire cause no one else had it. $300 later I had a new matching tire. An expensive morning, but oh wells, s*** happens.

How worn are your other tires? If they are getting worn i would take this opportunity to upgrade all my tires
