Its the same car basically. Its just under the hood and a little bit of features here and there. It really depends on how your going to use it. Goodluck bro.

I got my 250 because its was the only model they had that was 6 speed and rwd. I would be all over the 350 it it came in MT.

if you want:
6mt-250
awd-either
rwd-either

now if you can afford a 350
6mt-different car
awd-250-reason being is a 350 with the right tires will do just as well and weigh less and be quicker
rwd-350
want<afford<need
good night

Old thread, but I am new to Lexus forum.....reading alot here that people buy AWD for slippery roads and dont want to change the tires...RWD with proper winter tires will kill AWD with all-season, it handles better and its safer to drive then AWD. Takes about 30 minutes to swap wheels/tires and some shops do it for free if you are too lazy

^ this.....

I had my Camry totaled in an accident (got T-boned by a guy in a work van and bent my frame). The insurance company gave me a week to find a new car (while paying for a rental). In my search for another Camry, I came across a 2008 IS250 AWD....drove it and fell in love. I would have REALLY liked a 350, but they are very scarce (or were at the time). I got a very generous prperty settlement on the Camry and got the the IS with 70k miles for only $13900.

When I had the Camry, I found a set of corroded 16" wheels from a 99 Lexus RX300. Got a great deal on some new snows (Altimax Artic) that did very, very well on the Camry. I repainted the wheels Liquid Metallic Carbon & they turned out awesome....

Low and behold, the 16" wheels/tires clear the brake calipers and everything else. I can only imagine what the IS250 AWD and a good set of snows will be capable of...

My only issue is that I'm going from stock 225/45/17 to 215/60/16.
From tire fittament charts, it appears that these are about 2" taller than the 17's.....but if they are the same on all four corners, should I be safe?

On the upside, the car will be 2" taller and I shouldn't be "plowing" snow with the front end....
