Default Sons 2008 IS250 wont start. Please help.

Anybody have an idea of what is wrong with my sons 2006 Lexus IS250. Radio and ac are off, no power to obd2 port, no power to cigarette lighter ports now...the push to start button is amber not green and the PRND isnt lit up showing its in Park. I was thinking neutral safety switch but that wouldnt affect ac and radio. Car would start and die immediately before this wit radio, ac, and obd2 working..so I scanned it and bought a FICM and let my 16yr old change it...now the car doesnt do anything, we switched the old module back in and its the same.

FICM?

Fuel Injector control module?

Was the battery removed in such a way that when installed the polarity was reversed??

There are fuses in bus bar under a clear cover by the battery, look for opens. Pull and inspect every fuse under the hood and those in the cabin. There are two panels in the cabin.

Narrowing the field of suspects is best done by looking at the owners manual fuse description and going through your list of items that no longer work. Find the fuse or fuses that relate to those items and inspect them.

The manual has a lot more detail than the fuse box lids.

I think it could be much smaller issues such as the fuse for certain ACC. The way you describe it, it can be the IG2 ignition fuse located in the bigger fuse box in the engine bay. Post a photo of the fuse.

Yes we replaced the fuel injector control module, the battery hasnt been removed but the car has sat for approximately a year because it would start and just die. I replaced the fuel pump and it did the same thing. I also have a brand new bus bar we are going to install today.

No worries mate, I once took the IG2 fuse out when installing aftermarket headlights. It shut off all cig lighters etc, and push to start button. However, the battery was turning on other random **** in the car.

Since it sat for so long - was it ever jump started? Is it possible that the cables were connected incorrectly (swapped - for +)?

If it sat empty or low on fuel, fuel with methanol in it will attract moisture. Water is heavier than fuel and could play a roll in not starting or staying running.

Based on the new info, it likely needs a new battery too.

If it does crank, get some starting fluid in the accordion pipe and seal it back up fast. Try to start it.

If you turn the car to the on position (not starting) does the check engine light appear? If not you may have a shorted fuel pressure sensor causing the ECM to become unresponsive and will not allow the vehicle to crank. I have seen this issue multiple times. If you cannot connect through the obd connector check the OBD fuse under the dash and ensure that it is getting power. Hope this helps.

If the car sat OUTSIDE for a while, you could have had rodent problems with them getting into the engine bay and chewing through wires.
