A6's aren't even in the same category an the 350, why even compare? And are you guys talking about previous generation A6's or the current? I know several people with them and they have been rock solid.

Not to mention the S6 is a beaut. with the Lambo V10.

Comparing the IS350 to an A6 is like comparing a ES to a S4.

lil' IS300, it was a brand comparison. No applies and oranges there. If you don't believe me, take a look at this:

http://www.jdpower.com/corporate/new...asp?ID=2006133

Score:

Lexus: 136 problems per 100 vehicles (1st place)

Audi: 279 problems per 100 vehicles (28th place)

Draw your own conclusions. It's the OP's money, but I've seen far too many problems with other people's Audis to ever want to try that on for size. Oh, and the only way a Lambo engine will be "rock solid" is if it's never started. Those engines are NOT reliable. There's a good reason Lambo isn't even on that chart I linked to...talk about skewing the results.

A friend of mine has an A6 w/the 4.2 engine...what a POS. CONSTANTLY something wrong with that car.

ROTFLMAO . . . public transportation - Audi ownership experience . . .

Dude that is Harsh, but somehow perceptions do become reality . . .

The other thing I would caution the OP, never own a german car outside of factory warranty (been there, done that, never again)

an 05 S4 has original warranty ntil 09 , im only looking at cars with atleast 2 years / 25K warranty left, plus most of the are CPO anyway till 100K.

To answer someone else's question, I am 24 - I am married, Since I was 16 I have driven/owned:

1995 Range Rover
1997 Land Rover Defender
2000 land Rover discovery
2004 A4 3.0
2004 TT 180 coupe
2004 TT 3.2 roadster
2006 Pathfinder
2006 Xterra
2007 IS 250

Keep in mind, we are married so we have always had 2 or 3 cars at a time... and no ive never had a car less then a year.

maybe you should've got the 350 instead?

Are you looking at a A4/6 or new TT??

Just list in on autotrader.com and see if you get any hits.
...or at least wait until the end of the month to try to trade it in for an Audi.

The 350 wouldnt have made a difference, but thanks. Its not about being stupid, its about just not enjoying the car. Whether I want to get rid of it now, or wait 3 years, is my choice... If i get out of it now and get in a car that makes me happy, i dont consider that stupid.

no flaming is really needed here. Some people just can't be mature. Sorry to hear that you don't like the car. I sometimes think twice about my purchase. I miss my S2000 and I sometimes wish I had gotten into an M3 convertible. But for now I'm very content with my IS350. Maybe later on down the road. There are always going to be newer, nicer cars out there. I'll enjoy my power and reliability for now. Good luck.

Lexus > Audi. Not a fan of German cars. Audi and BMW's have the worst electrical issues in the world, not to mention they are so unreliable. Keep the IS250!!!

Clearly you've never owned or worked on anything made by British Leyland, Jaguar, Lotus, MG, or any car with Lucas electrical components.

Kspider, i know exactly how you. When you first get the car your so excited and happy about the purchase that everything seems perfect. Then, a week or so later, you realize that the car really isnt all that you make it out to be...i went through the same thing your going through right now..and trust me, if you doubt the IS, dont think twice about selling it and getting another car

I wanted to chime in, since I have an Audi (Sold one to get the 2IS). I still have my TT. The one I sold is a allroad with the 2.7T motor. The car was quick! but at 65K miles, I spent $3000 last year to keep it running. 2 oil leaks in 1 year, 1 cluster, air suspension bladder, etc. I loved the car, but the reason I bailed out was that the car was depriaciating like crazy! So with the maintenence cost, depreciation, I made a decision that I would listen to my wallet than my heart at this point.

I will always love audis and will maybe lease one in the future, BUT for sure I will never buy one for long term use.

I have to tell you that I have owned two Audi's. Both A4s. I love German engineering. I love the feel and the way they drive. I bought my IS 350, because the car that I wanted was out of range (RS4). If I still lived in Arizona, I would have bought another Audi, but here in Las Vegas there is only one dealer and they are the worst! ReLexin and 15951, you said it best. My first A4 was in the shop the equivelent of every month for the 2 years I owned it. The second was in the shop for seven weeks straight (under warranty) to rebuild my transmition (it would not go into third without grinding. I love the car and it has more back seat room, but after test driving the 350, I was sold. It is nicer inside and a hell of a lot faster. Have you talked to the dealership about trading up...you may like the 350. If that is not an option, best of luck...sometimes I still wish I had my Audi, but you have to do what makes you happy.
