Default Cleaning the Ceiling

I was driving my IS350 and my girlfriend pointed out a small red smear on the ceiling. She said she didn't do anything but I know it looks like red lip gloss or ketchup (don't ask me how it got there) from her fries. Does anyone know what I could use to possibly clean up the spot without making it look worse? Thanks in advance!

this is what i used for my acura CL

http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...Stain_Remover/

it works pretty good but the problem is that it will stink your car (pretty strong!) for at least 3 days......the smell will eventually go away after that (i kept the windows open for 3 days in the garage).

WARNING: havent tried with my IS (and hope i wont try it....)

if you have catchup stain.....maybe u can try with tide to-go instead?

hope that helps.....

Just use a good aerosol carpet cleaner. Spray a SMALL amount just on the stain. Let sit 30 seconds. Use a cotton towel and apply pressure to the treated area. NO RUBBING OUR WIPING. That should take care of it. Carpet cleaner should not hurt the dye in the fabric.

I will bet you it's lipstick. This happened to me except instead of the ceiling, it was my sun visor. I had no idea how it got there until I figured it out one day...

I always put lipstick on in the car using my sun visor's mirror. I had a tube of lipstick that was broken on the inside so bits of the lipstick was sticking on the outside of the tube. Not knowing that lipstick was on the outside, I had inadvertently smeared the lipstick all over my fingers whenever putting it on. Afterwards, I'd flip the sun visor back up using my fingers; hence, the lipstick marks.

I think maybe your gf did the same but didn't know her fingers were stained w/lipstick.

I was looking for something to clean my sun visor so I'll try the methods that everyone's mentioned.

303 aerospace fabric cleaner. Took out a huge 6 inch ink stain from my headliner. I had a pen in my hand writing something then got out of the car with it. It came right out with a little rubbing cant even tell! work the 12 dollar from GI JOES!

For you guys with the stain problems for lipstick since it's an oil base use rubbing alcohol for the ketchup stain a 50/50 dilution of household ammonia. I've owned a carpet cleaning service for 15 years it should all work fine without any problems with the exception of the ammonia smell which will fade soon enough just let the windows down and air it out. Hope this helps you guys out.
