Lexus IS - Leg & Head Room (Vehicle comparison)
#16
The rear seat room was indeed one of the reasons it took me over a year to decide to get one. I really wanted the 06, but at that time, all the other cars I was considering had issues. RL and M35 were gas guzzlers, TL is getting a little old, G35 was due for a change, 330i was still hot and expensive. Then in 07, RL and TL were still the same, G35 didn't impress me, and 335i got REALLY expensive, so I decided to finally accept the rear seat room and get the car.
I'm glad I did, as I haven't had to utilize it that much for it to have been such a big factor with me.
Also, if you see, our trunk is decent sized. In fact, I can put one pull cart and two golf bags in with no problem, which is pretty good for my needs of transporting my dad to play.

Woops, the graph says RSX, not TSX. Two completely different cars as far as rear seats are concerned. I know the IS has a ridiculously small back seat for sure and I'm okay with it because 99% of the people I've carried so far aren't bumping into my seat back. But it definitely is NOT smaller than my RSX. But it could very well be smaller than a TSX.

I'm glad someone mentioned it....do you have a car seat in the back for your toddler, or does your child have a booster? I plan on buying an IS250 in the next few weeks and am doing my research...this is a topic I haven't discussed. Let me know...thanks!

I don't understand the need to compare legroom sizes when you have bought a non family car/SUV etc. Although the Is is a sedan, it's not a large family car/SUV so it should be thought of as one. It's a sports sedan with 4 doors built medium in size for things like driving comfort, looks and luxury..

As far as car seats, I have a car seat (forward-facing) behind the front passenger seat for my 21-month old son. Getting him in is somewhat of a challenge as I need to bend down and make sure I don't bump his head on the door opening.
When in the carseat, he has adequate room, but I usually scoot the front passenger seat forward when no one is sitting in it so he can have more room. I would imagine this would be more of an issue w/ rear-facing seats as they tend to stick out farther. Though as someone else here on CL has mentioned, you can place the rear-facing carseat in the middle of the back seat and it should fit fine.
Hope this helps.

Why? Product and/or marketing manipulation? Would you buy an ES or a GS if you got 3.4 inches more to get 34 inches?
GS350 - Rear Leg Room: 36.4 in. (2.4 inches diff.)
ES350 - Rear Leg Room: 35.9 in. (1.9 inches diff.)
Probably not. The IS might kill both cars.
