Not a chance...I'd go with paintless dent removal any day.

LOL. Those door moldings ain't gonna help you from door dings.

Also that completely disrupts the line of the IS!

Whoa! I'm already a cast-out, due to my pinstripes. I think those would be grounds for 1 to 2 model years in the slammer.

Me too. Already did once. My bike slipped out of my hands while I was hanging it up in the garage and it tagged the rear quarter panel. Got it taken out for $60. I'd do it again in a second.

Usually a lot of these dent places will do $60-75 a whole panel, not just a ding. Not sure if you have one in your area, but try to setup like a dent day to see if you guys can get a discounted rate. The S2000 club does this quite a bit.

FYI, when I bought my IS in June of last year, Lexus did not offer a OEM body side molding. Since then, they now offer a BSM for the ES, but not the IS. I would be very wary of anyone selling a BSM for the IS, since I believe it would just be a modified BSM for an ES, and may not be a perfect paint match for the IS . . .

I would DEFINITELY go for PDR if I got a dent, since I've been thoroughly amazed at what they can do (i.e. as if the dent never existed). However, I kind of like the way the moldings look. I think the doors look really plain.

The very first thing my mom said when she saw my new car was, "Hmm...the sides are very...flat." I smiled and said, "I know."

Wouldn't want to chince that up with moldings.

I've been down the "protective molding" route many times and invariably lost. The dings as they came (and they ALWAYS came) were above, below or beside the molding. Still I do everything I can to minimize them.
