New EPA MPG Estimates

New EPA MPG Estimates
What do you guys think about the new mpg estimates??? I personally this estimates are way more realistic than the old ones, I have an IS250 and never
got close to the 24 mpg on city or the 32 on highway. I always get like 22 mpg
so the new estimate of 21mpg for the IS250 looks more realistic.
here is the link for the IS250 new MPG

I couldnt browse the page but I have 5K miles on my IS350 with an average of 17mpg. I have never found estimates anywhere near what I get. I think the Sti was at 21 and I got 14.

My IS250 which is driven almost entirely in town gets an average of 23 mpg according to my calculations and not the cars. On trips if I obey the speed limit I can get 31 mpg easily.

I've seen the original EPA numbers from my 350 many times on summer gas (but not on winter mix). My all time average is 24.5 right now over 19,700 miles. Best highway is 31.5, worst city is 19.2 according to the onboard device.
When I check the onboard calculation against real world, the onboard is either dead on, or slightly worse than actual.
But to be fair, I drive so much more highway than city it isn't even fair to compare. I've still got another 10k on my rear tires at their current rate of wear (even though the shoulders don't look so pretty). I've also got well over 50% thickness on my front brake pads. I still want to try the low dust pads though...

I got exactly 30 MPG going a steady 70 mph on the highway during a 70 mile drive. My all time avg is 25 now (since last May) as I was getting just around 27 mpg during the summer and around 23 this winter with the cooler weather and the oxygenated gas. My commute is 90% highway.

the EPA devises their own testing methodology, auto manufacturers dont set their own specs. the tests include simulated driving conditions on highways and small city roads. this is how the #s are come up with. the new #s mean that the EPA updated their tests to better reflect real world driving conditions (sitting at stop lights, stopping at stop signs, 65-70MPH highway speeds, etc...).
