AUX/MP3 input?
#2
I use the AUX port for my cell phone power adapter. I'll tell you one thing, it's a terrible place to put it!!!!! Come on designers. Make them more convienent. As for MP3, pshhhhh--I haven't even looked at it. Don't need it when I can just burn an MP3 CD, pop it in my beautiful 6-disc changer.

Tried the AUX twice or three times with the ipod and didnt use it again.
Agreed that it is not a good place to put it. Should be at the ash tray somewhere, for wiring ability.

Using it to connect my iPod. I'm using a cable that goes from the line level output on the iPod's dock connector to the car's aux jack, which gives better sound quality than using the iPod's headphone jack.

Mine is in constant use with my iPod as I have an hour commute, one way, each day. I got a 90 degree angled connector for my patch cable so I can still close the lid on the armrest without killing the cable.

Using it for my Sirius radio. SQ is not bad except for that humming noise that is more noticeable when the radio is on and Sirius is off. Also, not many 12V power plugs will fit with the center console closed. I had to modify it so I can close the lid all the way. Other than that, it's a quick/cheaper way to have Sirius in the car.

I always have my IPOD connected to it using a slightly modified:

I put a cigarette lighter plug on it and an adapter from RCA to 3.5 mm. Charges with no noise and works great!

Anyways, I used to just use MP3 CD's, but I eventually bought an SLI and use that. I would have just used MP3 DVD's if the car supported that... but it doesn't, for god knows what reason.

I almost didn't buy the car since there wasn't a good ipod/integration unit with it (the dealers were originally swearing that I could control everything in the ipod through the car through the headphone jack - they've been corrected). I got hope through SoundLinq of VAIS, but having to limit my lists, etc is no fun. Also, having such a nice screen (nav system), doesn't make sense why there isn't something that shows artwork and is more user friendly. Still awaiting this anxiously - any word on new/better ipod integration into the nav system, yet?
