Default void warranty?

Hey anyone know if I add a Joe-Z intake or something small like that will it void my warranty with lexus? And if so is there something I can do to mod it a bit and not void the warranty?

Warranties are not void unless a problem you have with the car can be directly attributed to the aftermarket modification.

There are tons of threads about this. For more info use the wonderful search option.

They can void the warranty on the intake system and related components.

That may be true, but they still CAN void the warranty of that particular part. Some dealers are more mod friendly than others.

they have to prove that the modification caused the problem for a warranty claim b4 they can void anything.

"proof" is a very gray area when it comes to mods. The Magnuson Moss act does not stipulate in any manner of detail what adequate "proof" is, nor does it stipuate who has that burden of proof. It would be very easy for them to void the warranty on the Intake and intake related parts if you modified the intake system.

Now if you modify the intake system and they want to void the warranty on your suspension, that's another matter.
