Complimentary 30-day service?!
I was just browsing through Lexus's owners website and saw that I needed to bring back my IS for service at the 30-day mark!? Apparently, that is for inspection for leaks and road test.
I don't really want somebody to take apart my new car to look for leaks and taking it for a road test and get my seats / carpet dirty. This sounds like an overkill.
Are you guys doing this? What's your opinion on this?

Well, my dealer told me to come back in the first month or 1000 miles for the free "personalization programming." I prefer the defaults already - so I don't know if I'll go there just for the personalization.
I thought that all they did for the 30day/1000 mile service was to program your preferences and maybe just check up if anything major is wrong. I just got a call from the dealer (2 wks after I bought it) asking me if everything is all right with the car.
Any personalization feature that people find particularly useful? I don't want to unlock all doors when I touch the driver's handle so I'll just leave that as default. I heard you can program that option by yourself by holding down two keys on your remote anyway.

You have a year to make you LPS selection. Live with the vehicle for awhile and then when you know what selections you want changed have them do it before the one year mark.
