The IS features something like a semi-LSD (do a search on this), but the simple answer is no.

I do know the 3-series doesn't have one either, until you get the //M model, so perhaps the IS -F will have one?

In Canada, you can only get the LSD on an IS350 with Sport package.

I just checked on lexus.ca, and if what you say is true, it is odd that they wouldn't list the LSD on the bulleted list of features added by the sport package: http://www.lexus.ca/lexus/experience...262T&year=2007

I'm not entirely sure how the LSD on the IS350 works, but I've read that the car tries to mimick an LSD by applying the brake to the slipping wheel. The differential itself however is not LSD.

You're right, it's not posted on the Lexus.ca website. But it is listed on the pricing schedule I got from two dealers. It says clearly "LSD Limited Slip Differential" under Package C (Sport package).

IS 350 does not have LSD. It has a pre-torque mechanism. It has a conical spring between the side gear and the side gear washer and a preload is applied. So I guess it will act like an LSD.

The term they use for the ISx50 differentials is "pre-torque" and it means they've put a wave washer behind the pinion gears to act like a very weak limited slip. The claim is VDIM will apply the opposing brake to make the system work like a limited slip.

There is a true limited slip differential (Torsen) available for the RWD 250. It is shown in the service manuals and in the New Car Features. None of the other models have this available.

There is an aftermarket limited slip available, but it would be a complete waste of money unless you are competing with the car. Advanced level autocrossers would find this worthwhile, but the average driver isn't going to notice anything. Also, the entry price for the unit does not include installation, which should be done by someone who specialises in drivetrain work. Setting up a differential is not rocket science, but if done incorrectly, you'll be spending a lot of money on rebuilding a brand new unit in short order. It's slow work and can't be rushed.

Thanks for the responses. So, if I disengage all the electronic nannies in the '07 IS350 and boot it, will I see two marks or just one...? It must work well for the car is very fast off the line.

the LSD is a listed in the Canada models but for the 2006 model with sports package but for some reason not on the 2007s....
