X-Package Impressions
I took a trip to Ray Catena in Larchmont earlier today to browse IS'.
Much to my surprise, they had a SGM manual IS250 X-Package in the showroom. The car stickered for just north of $34k. It was the first X-Package I've seen in person, and simply put, it was love at first sight. The car was parked in the far left corner of the showroom, and it instantly caught my eye.
The rims are hot. Pictures don't do them justice. In person, they really fit the car, and definitely remind me of the 17" IS300 five-spokes. This was the first IS I've seen with the front-lip installed, and it looks far more tasteful than pictures suggest. This is the third manual 250 I've seen at Ray Catena, but the first I've sat in. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed. I'm willing to forego getting Starfire Pearl for the X-package. I'd likely go for Tungsten.
On my way out I spoke to a sales rep about the car. He told me the X-Package is only available in manual. Unless I'm mistaken, I thought it could be ordered in automatic. Can anyone verify?
Anyway, this car single-handedly made me fall in love with the IS all over again. I wasn't a fan of SGM until I saw one with this package. In terms of styling alone, the '07 G35s I looked at Thursday pale in comparison. Seriously.
I'll try and upload my cell phone pictures upon request.

The X-Pkg comes in auto. I was going for a Red IS350 w/ sport pkg, but the dealership would not sell it to me b/c it was a test drive car. They had only one car. I ended up elsewhere buying a Obsidian Black IS 350 X-pkg b/c I love the wheels. I might get them chromed next summer. Not sure yet. It would be my dream come true to have the X-pkg in Matador Red, but I can't buy two cars just to switch the wheels. Here are the details...
IS350 Auto
X-pkg
HID Lights w/AFS
Nav
Premium Pkg
Pref Access
Rear Spoiler
MSRP $43017+218 TTL (no tax in OR) = $43235
I got it OTD for $40500. That was the best I could do b/c only 2 Lexus dealerships in Oregon and the other one would only give me $42200. I'm happy. The wheels are awesome and you really get heads turning.

I've not yet seen the X package wheels here in Toronto, but from the pictures on the net I think they are awesome. After seeing a couple of 07 G35's on the road I still think we have the better looking car.

I agree with you about the new G35, i saw one in the distance the other day and caught up for a closer look, to me it just looks liek an ordinary mid-range car, it was just way to round, especially the rear. But it does ahve 100 more horses .

I'd swear the other day I saw them on there for $1800, now listed at $2200.

I'd special order X-Package and wait 3 months before buying the wheels for $2,200.
Agreed. Infiniti must be aiming the sedan at a much older demographic this time around. The rear is wayyy too round in person. It really blends in, and interior quality was really unimpressive in the G35x I sat in. The center-console's fit and finish was on par with my old IS300. Oh well. Infiniti is now off my list.
