I never idle warm up my car. I push the button and go, like @lobuxracer said way back on page 1:
Additional car care tip, I learned is short trips are bad on condensation build-up in the muffler and other components and should be avoid when possible. If you had done many short trips when the car hasn't got to operating temperature, take a long drive to burn off the built up condensation.
The engine warms up better under load. The owner's manual even says, drive the car, don't let it idle to warm up. Idling is one of the worst things you can do to an engine for a lot of reasons. Just drive, but don't beat on it until its been running for about 10 minutes - the coolant may be up to temp, but the oil isn't, and the oil will bypass the filter if it's too thick and rpm is too high (over 3k or so). While it isn't instant death for unfiltered oil to go through the engine, it's not exactly the best thing in the world for a plain bearing engine either.
The gearbox is ready to go in just a few seconds. It has software to prevent damage from doing stupid things. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

over here in MN temps. already dropped below freezing, and it will be the same for the next 5 months or so.
I had a remote starter in my previous vehicles and thinking on doing the same soon.
any other is250 owners have a remote starter?
on my other car I usually let it run for 10-15 minutes before I get in the car.

Hey guys Ihave a 08 Lexus is250 with 118k miles, I changed my spark plugs like 2-3 months ago ever since idid the spark plugs I noticed the car takes like 10 mins for the temp gauge to hit the middle. Is this normal?, or should I check out the sparkplugs?

I drop it into gear at or below 1000 RPM. When below 38°F, the idle will stay high 1200 as long as the HVAC is on but drops to 700'ish if you turn off HVAC.
That said, I just leave it off until the needle is around 7:00/7:30 so it has less tendency to run things over...
Also, driving downhill nearly doubles the warm up time compared to driving up hill as the engine does so little work...
PS - 350...
