Default Lexus Dealership Oil Change Cost?

I'm just curious how much you guys are paying for an oil change on your
IS350. I'm originally from Bakersfield, CA. and the Lexus dealership there wanted to charge me $180 just for an oil change. I got my complimentary oil change there, but will never go back.

So, where are you from and how much are you paying for an oil change.

Ohhh I was curious about this subject too..

180 is pretty stout, I think I'll just take mine to the Toyota dealership.. same oil.

On the same note, Touch up paint through lexus was like 18 bucks, and through Toyota (gave them the paint code and they were able to verify) it was only 7.

Toyota FTW!

You may find a local Toyota dealer more reasonable.

They will stock the correct oil filter.

They may take and install oil you provide.

The oil on the bottle and in the book says

Toyota 5W-30 (or 20 depending), so.. they should carry it. My Toyota dealership has already said they carry it. Maybe for their larger SUVs? I dunno.

im from north jersey and i got my oil changed from the dealer a few weeks ago and cost came to about $54 including tax so i was happy with that still a bit overpriced for just an oil change but couldve been worse

$180??????????
Man, they are trying to dig deep in your wallet. There is no way it should cost that much. The most I was quoted was $89 and I thought that was bad!

If you plan on going to a Toyota dealership for an oil change, I strongly suggest you call ahead and make an appointment, letting them know what parts they are going to need. I called three Toyota dealers near me and none of them stocked the oil filter element for the 2IS - they had to order them.

This is really good advice. How annoying would it be to drop off your car, get a call an hour later and they say we dont have the filter, come back again?

I all about whether you ask for just an oil and filter change or you get "the oil service". The "oil service" includes inspecting your car and topping off the fluids it is usually double the price of just the oil and filter change. Most luxury dealerships have this two tier pricing.

Are we talking just an oil change? Or a 10K, 15K service.
The 10K service was 180 bucks, my rep would leave it for 160.

I just wanted the oil change, and that was 39 dollars.

Yeah, but didn't you grab some of the free pastries, cupcakes and juice at the Lexus dealer when you paid for the paint? At my dealer they charged me $11 and the service counter is right next to the table where they keep all the free food for folks waiting to get their cars serviced.

My dealer pays for the first FOUR oil changes (20,000 miles). I've only got 2,000 miles on the car so far, so I'm good for now.

My dealership quoted me $44.00 for an oil change. I just bought and oil filter from Lexus and changed the oil myself. Wasn't that hard.

My dealer offers the same thing BUT... I've had so much trouble with their service department that I'm not sure I'm going to take them up on the offer

Oh well, at least there is a dealer near my office that offers free pickup and delivery for service. I'm going to check them out. I'd really love to come to work, have them pick up the car, service it and bring it back to me
