So I was at the Lexus dealer yesterday getting my first glimpse of the 2007 IS. There was an 2006 and a 2007 IS parked next to each other so I was comparing the two.

I started looking at the window stickers. I dont know if anyone noticed this yet but the 2006 IS parts come 100% from Japan and the 2007 IS parts come 95% from Japan and 5% Canadian/US.

I hope they dont use more and more canadian/us parts every year on the IS. The reason why I like Lexus cause its made in Japan.

5% is probably the battery and maybe other small things.

Hi there, I just looked at the sticker on my 07 and I cant find anywhere where it says the parts are 95% from Japan and 5% from from U.S./Canada. Where on the sticker are you seeing this info?

It's not on the actual window sticker. When you bought the car it had the window sticker on one side and on the other side of the vehicle it had additional white sticker that told you where the engine, tranny is from, assembly, percentage of parts, etc.

If you dont have that paper then the dealer probably threw it out preping the vehicle for you upon delivery.

Is there a breakdown or a site that'll do a breakdown on the parts contents?
So we can actually see if it's the shark fin or not that's from America, or Canada, or Japan, or Mars?

The cars are fully built and assembled in Japan. The only thing
that gets installed at the port are some options like, trunk
spoiler, ground effects kit, cargo mat, cargo netting, and wheel locks.
