Default Spare tire compartment

I'm planning to get an extra stock rim/tire and replace the dummy one. I'm wondering whether the stock rim/tire will fit the compartment.

Also, are the rear rims a bit larger than the front?

You own the car and don't know the rears are bigger than the fronts?

As i know it fit the 16inch stock rim since the 16inch and 17inch IS has a 16inch stock rim for the spare... And 18inch will has a spacesaver for the spare...

you can open your trunk and look at your spare to see if a stock wheel will fit. Takes about 1 minute....

Here's your opportunity to go outside and look at your tire sizes. You should note that the front tires are 225s and rears are 255s. This is a clue that the rear wheels are wider than the front wheels. This also makes it impossible to always have the right full size wheel and tire in your trunk in case of a flat, if it would even fit in the spare tire well. Which it won't.

The person who posted about full size spares in models with the 16" and 17" wheels is from China. Perhaps Lexus packages the cars differently over there.

I wouldn't bother. A 18 x 8 225 40 won't fit completely in the spare tirewell - its too wide, the compartment lid won't fit flush w/the trunk floor, eating up valuable trunk space.

Also, the OEM 18" rim/tires are apprx 1" wider & taller b/w the front & rear.

There is no way a full size will fit. Measure the width of the spare tire with a tape measure, and compare it to the front or rear. I wouldn't be surprised if the spare tire compartment isn't even half the size of the rear tire.

Just want to add to this post.
on the IS250 AWD model here in US, all 4 tires are the same size and profile.
They are all P225/45/17
