IS 350 Demo...
hello everyone! i am wondering what are some pros and cons of getting a demo IS 350 fully loaded with 5000 miles on it. The dealer told me 39000. I know lots of people have probable driven it so is that price fair? should i talk him down more? you guys know more about this than me. Thanks

Hmm... I bought a 2006 IS350 white on black sport package, Nav/ML, and perferred package for 39,111. MSRP was 43909. I got it for 500 over invoice and the car had 10 miles on it. My car is pretty much fully loaded missing maybe 3 options radar cruise, parking assist, and I believe headlamp washers. personally to me 39000 for a 5000 mile car demo sounds bad. Find out what the invoice price on the demo was and work down from that figure as the car has 5000 miles on it. Personally I would try to find a left over IS350 and buy one of those as you can get great deals on them right now.

That doesn't seem like a big enough discount for the number of miles that are already on that car. And you have to remember that those 5,000 miles on it weren't exactly easy miles. I'm sure that car has been driven hard as hell, because I know that I wouldn't want to actually buy the car I test drove...

I'd comeback with
An offer of $37,500 conditional on a full exterior/interior detailing, the 5000 mile service performed and authenticated. Ask for your 10,000 mile service to be your "free" service call. If the tires show wear, try to negotiate a new set.

think bout it this way... are you ok with a person flooring your car all the way to redline for 5000 miles? It is not worth it... don't try to cut corners on this car.. i know it seems cheaper.. but try another place.. he's probably not bring the price down on other cars so psychologically it seems like you're gettin a deal...
i just picked one up 40300 OTD.. Navi included no ML....15 miles... it was to get it from another dealership

interesting...he was rather eager to give me that price. it is considered pre owned so i'm not sure if i can get the free service at 10000. i will contact him to let him know that i want it out the door at that price. all the dealerships are trying to get me in today saying its the last day of the sale and they wont be able to do any better afterwards. other dealerships said they can beat the carsdirect price but dont have many colors i want left.

i find it strange they would even fully load a demo car, i would think the demo car is just stripped down bare bones just for driving purposes, the other options dont have to be used in a moving vehicle and could be demoed in the lot (cant program navi when its in motion anyways)

Well there's nothing wrong with buying a demo car, like was stated above, not everyone drives it like they stole it, most people dont. Even the ones that drive it hard, it usually a quick sprint on the freeway for like a mile or two at a time. Not long enough to do any damage at all to the car. It isn't like buying a rental where someone has extended time with the car with no supervision and can do what they please.
The price however, does seem a bit high for a demo with that many miles.
