Absolutely...My salesman also discouraged the selection...I have it in my wifes GX so I thought as long as I was waiting 4 months for the sport 350 I might as well get what I wanted....Soo glad I ordered it w/ ML Not even a comparison to our 05' GX ML system and after listening to the stock version on a good friend of mines 250 I would have been upset if I listend to my salesman...good luck

The ML/Navigation combo is definitely a plus!! When I bought my car, I definitely wanted the navi, but was okay with the stock sound system. Luckily for me, the dealership I went to threw in the ML system for free. (supposedly). I couldn't be happier with it.

Long thread on exactly this question to be found here:

Summary: Stock pioneer system is very good however for those who appreciate high quality sound, ML is worth it.
Anyone who wants further details can read the aforementioned thread!

The Mark Levinson system is wonderful. Good bass and range of frequency response. But you know what. Ever since I installed the Tanabe exhaust, I don't turn on the stereo system as much as before as the Tanabe exhaust has really nice tune. But anyway, I think it's worth the bucks. But I don't think it costs extra $4k though. I don't remember how much I paid for it but I thought it costs extra $1K or so. But I think you have to have navigation with the Mark Levinson system then yes, it's about $4K for both of them together.

this is one of those questions if you have to ask it is probably not worth it to you. a ton of reading vs 4k is a tough sell. even listening. you have to WANT ml.

I would 100% without a doubt say, YES, get the ML system. I love having a 6 disc DVD changer and the sound is night/day compared to the non-ML system. It's, for a lack of a better term, crisp and tight. You can't go wrong with it!

Let's not forget that it sorta plays DVD-A (but it sounds oooh so good). It also differs in how the sound is split between the speakers as it's spread in a much broader soundstage in the ML. But the previous poster nailed it, if you are an audiophile you'll appreciate the difference, but if you are happy with the stocker stereo then don't get ML unless you have reasons other than sound quality.
