Default Looking to purchase 2IS, need guidance

I'm looking to purchase the 2IS, I test drove one recently and I'm absolutely in love.

To me there are a few must haves, like the premium package (perforated leather) and HIDs, but I am having a hard time getting my dealership to tell me what is available. Basically they keep saying "tell me what you want and I'll look for it" but I feel like this puts me at a disadvantage when agreeing upon a price.

The IS is pushing what I had hoped to spend pretty hard, but relative to what I was considering it is leagues ahead. I need to know from those of you that have already purchased what the typical trim packages are that I should have my dealer look for; basically how many of the 2ISs already come from the factory.

I want to locate a car I can negotiate on before the end of the month so I can hopefully get the price closer to invoice than MSRP.

Thanks guys, I gotta get myself in one of these soon.

Basically find the package you want. Premium, Sport, or Luxury. You can get all the info on what each package comes with on the Lexus Website; www.lexus.com.

I have a SGM (black Pearl) IS350 with the luxury package and Navagation. I never felt like I would like the nav but now I feel it is well worth the extra cash.

Here is a list of available options - http://www.lexus.com/models/is/price_options.html

You should figure out what options you want and go from there. Keep in mind, there are a lot more 250s on the lot compared to 350s. There's a lot more Luxury Package than Sport Package. A good thing to do is check multiple dealerships (ie GA, AL, FL, SC.. depending on how far you want to drive to get it). Dealerships in GA were charging MSRP so I ordered mine from CO.

Keep in mind too that the 2007s are coming soon, this will help you with the price on a 2006 but hurt you on the availabilty of the exact car you want, since you will only get to pick from the lot.

Good Luck

Thanks guys.
I'm not extremely picky on the options... navigation is a fairly expensive addition that I'm not sure I would miss. I'm also not sure how important to me the automatic wipers (do they work well?) and headlights are, but I feel like HIDs are pretty standard on most vehicles nowadays anyways, and I would be cutting corners opting out of them on an IS.

I guess I just need to shop around more and see what is available. The internet sales associate I am currently in contact with seems reluctant to provide me with a list of the available IS 250s and instead wants me to specify what I want, which will depend more so on the cost more than anything else.

you can't get the premium package with hids for the 06, but you will be able to for the 07 model.

Ok, good to know.

So then I'm looking for a luxury package with navigation but not ML. Do you think it can be had for $33500 before TTL?

might be tough on an 07, nav is around 2550 and lux package 3500, 33500 is a large discount for an 07 250, which dont count on happening, in my region at least they dont budge from MSRP maybe 500 at the most on 06 or 07

If you like music and want great quality sound, get the ML. I understand its more expensive, but its so nice. Also, good call on getting the NAV, I think the dash looks terrible without the screen.

I'm working on existing 06 inventory to get a better deal since I know they want to clear them off the lot.

I've considered the ML package, but it really is alot of extra money. If there is one available but not one without the ML package, I'll obviously go for the ML package, but the extra money is not worth it to me if I don't need to spend it... I can do much better with aftermarket components anyways.

Except in Lexus of Clearwater... I was there on Saturday, they had 2 or 3 IS250's and like 8 IS350's!!!

Your talking a MSRP of about 40 grand... I don't see you getting that kind of discount.

Agh, I'm Confused! Thats not what edmunds says:

Code:
                         msrp invoice
Total with Options $37,795 $32,973

I know its a pretty steep discount, but its a start and if I can get anywhere near it, I'm game.

looks like you priced an IS250 RWD automatic with luxury package with the 17" wheels and navi minus the ml, ..u're asking for $500 over invoice. i've seen very few people on here getting $500 over invoice so it could happen...i don't know about your region, but most of the is250 i've seen here on the lots don't come with that combo you're looking for...most just have the premium package with the 18s.
