Just curious to see what tire everyone plans to use on their 2IS once the Dunlops are worn out. I'm thinking about going with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's or the Toyo Proxes T1-R.

I'm going with PS2's on my new wheels. They are the best and the lightest max performance tire. They also wear out very, very quickly. I had S0-3's, GS-D3's and PS2's on my G. The GS-D3's are great also but they weigh close to 3-4 lbs more than the PS2's. They did have noticeably better treadwear than the PS2's though. Like everything, there are compromises with any of them.

I plan to try out Goodyear F1 GS-D3s after OEM, but I havent even got 1 inch on my imaginary 07 IS350

LOL. BTW.. I've been hearing too many people complain that the GS-D3s have soft sidewalls and that these tires a considered Max Performance "WET" tires only.

whichever tires gives me the best treadwear/price/value/performance...anyone knows which tires will give me that? i can care less about weight though..it's not like i'm gonna be racing.

You may probably want to look at the Avon Tech M550 A/S (Ultra High Performance All-Season)
A little heavier than stock, but will definitely last a long time by the tread rating and they are cheap! (relatively)

Front: 225/40WR18

I will probably go with the Nitto 555's if they come in our size, Had them on my 02 Stang GT they had unblievable traction and the were only about 120 a piece

I've taken the d3's out on the track and they perform very well. The turn in is a little softer than the ps2's but it's not terrible either.

I'll probably go with Conti Extremes. They're very well priced, they're a good performance tire in terms of other all-seasons, they've got a good treadwear rating, and they're pretty quiet. I put lots of miles on every year, so the price and treadwear is important in my case. I also want something that can at least make an attempt at moving the car in the occasional snowfall my car sees, which means something other than a dedicated summer tire.

The stockers on the G were the original Michelin Pilot Sports. They were a good tire but the d3's were better in terms of noise and especially wet traction. In the dry, it's a pretty close call besides the wear.

Working on a spreadsheet that will help me down the road pick the next set of tires. Here is what I have so far. I'm leaning towards the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's because of the excellent grip and light weight, but just not sure about the wear characteristics. I drive 15k a year, so maybe it won't be a big deal.
