Default How much do the stock wheel/tires go for?

I saw a great looking SGM IS350 with black Volk Progressiv ME wheels and totally loved it, I think that's what i'm going to do with mine once I get one So I google'd the wheels and they turn out to be ~700/each wheel and add on the cost of the tires, I was surprised to find the total cost for the set of new wheels/tires to be close to 3400!!! Maybe you all know this already, but this is entirely new to me, I've always used stock hubs on my Accord and the cheap onsale Costco tires

I then checked on ebay fo rthe price of sold OEM is wheels and they only sold for ~400. Maybe it's just me, but now I'd rather save the six months worth of car payments and not get new wheels

Default Wheel Price

I would not have gone with aftermarket wheels if it ran me $3 -5K. I got 19” Ruff Racing rims with tires for $1600.00. But sometimes you just got to get what you like, and sometimes that will cost ya.

yeah, most aftermarket wheels, especially 3-piece forged wheels, will go for about $3500 and up with tires depending on size, etc. its an investment, after all, you'll probably keep those new wheels for the life of the car. i'm looking into some jline 19" rims that will cost me close to $4000 with tires, but i'm trying to find a company/wheel that is TPMS compatible or find an easier way to be able to use the sensors.

You can buy the G-spider or ISP for $900 a set. But if u prefer 19 and VOLk, you gotta pay extra for it.

Did you want to know the cost of an original rim? FYI, for our IS250, the stock rim from the dealer cost about $490. I got one on ebay for less than half that.

Breaking news - dealers charge a fortune for OEM parts

Exactly right. I never understood this, especially for people who drive nice cars like Lexuses. They shell out $40K+ on a car, then buy the cheapest tires, the cheapest oil, the cheapest gas, etc. Whazzupwitdat????

Usually when I think of an investment the thought of making money comes to mind. Wheels are like 99.9% of cars, a depriciating asset that is worth considerably less the moment you buy it/them

I agree with all you said except for the "investment" part. Any aftermarket part you buy for a car is not an investment (that's if you're referring to $$) unless you plan to enter it in a car show and win some money or use it as advertising campaign. Last I checked depreciation is nowhere near an investment. If you're investing in street credit, then yes, you're investing to get street rep.
