Sport mode button....

I just got done trying this out. It seems that for the most part all of what you guys have been saying is true. One thing I did notice that is unexpected in power mode is that when going down hills it upshifts, unlike what another thread was saying about it downshifting in regular mode down hills. Thought this was neat as I was accelerating down one of the hills in downtown Athens, GA without my foot on the accelerator-- pretty steep hills.

When in ECT power mode it will downshift more readily and have
more throttle response.
If you are cruising at highway speed and
punch the throttle, in normal mode it will downshift 2 gears. In
ECT power mode it will downshift 3 gears. If you lift your foot off
the pedal right away after it downshifts, in ECT power mode it will
not upshift untill you again put your foot on the accelerator. I imagine
this is in anticipation of sport driving.
Also in ECT power mode, it will downshift more abruptly when
braking. In particular 4th gear. You could actualy feel the engine
braking effect because the transmission downshifts so early.
I have also noticed the pickup in speed when turning on the
ECT power switch during a steady cruise. It feels like it might be
producing more power but after much experimentation with
this phenomenon, I have come to the conclusion that it is just
a small difference in trottle position calibration.
