Theres not alot of IS350's on the lexus lots. i cant seem to find the right color and iterior color and options i want around here. i might just special order the 07. so my question is

Whats the procedure to special order an 07? is now a good time to order it? how much more would i have to pay? what should i look for in questions before i go into the dealership. im coming in monday.

any info would help guys..thanks

my salesguy told me to order an 07 I just need to figure out what I want and then order. The price you can negotiate the same as whats on their lot. I spoke to my local PA dealer and told them I got an email from my realtor assoc for 5% over invoice. They said no problem, we can do that on in stock or special order. I figure if they are willing to give 5% over invoice to anyone in real estate, I could do better with a little negotiation. We shall see.. Im still going back and forth on if I want an FX35 or the IS350.

I have done plenty of DD on this issue. Basically, if you "special order" your car, you are going to wait about 120 days. Long wait, but you at least will know that you are getting exactly what you want. In 06 the allocation of packages and options was kind of screwy. It is my understanding that the 07's are going to be much more flexible and allocated on a more even basis around the county. Example..if you lived in NY and wanted a ML system in your car, you had to special order it or look in anther region and have it shipped as Lexus did not allocate any ML systems to the NE.

Talk with your dealer and ask him what they expect to be getting in the month of Sept/Oct. My dealer was able to share a lot of information in this area. Some seem to know more than others.

My advice to you is to just sit back and wait. Chances are, the car you want will be in your area in Sept/Oct.

As far as a deal goes, I don't know what to tell you. I made my dealer on offer of $3,000 off MSRP on a Black sapphire (new color)/black/luxy pack with nav and ML. They told me to go pound sand up my but. So, I will be making calls this week to see if anyone will take my offer. I may be waiting until Nov/Dec for that deal, but I will get it. I just don't see a rush of people waiting to jump on the 07's. They are making deals now, they will be making deals later.

If your not wanting PA and radar, tell your dealer you want them to preference a car off the alotments and you'll have it fairly quick when the 07's are on ground.

Now, if it's gotta have "everything", then you'll have to suffer through the wait time.

I preferenced my car and had to wait awhile. But I wanted a red on black 350 with ML and Lux, and at that time, only 3 cars were made with that for the western region. My salesman hooked me up with an ES300 loaner for about 35 days no charge because the 330i was returned and I was without wheels........
