TRD Fuel Cap Question!
Just filled up the tank this morning... Everytime when I pump the gas at the station, I always feel the fuel cap on the 2IS is so crappy.
Is there anyone did the mod or swap on the fuel cap?
I saw the TRD ones on internet but I have no clue about how it works. Is the TRD ones just simply replace the whole thing, or is it a snap-clip over the existing cap?
Is it one size for all? Or there is a few different models?
Life is boring without moding on car!

I haven't looked at the 2IS piece, but I suspect it's similar to the one I have on my GS (which I won in a raffle at a Club Lexus meet) IMO it felt borderline ricey to add at first, but now I think it's a very nice looking cosmetic mod. I only hesitated installing it for a moment and now that I've seen it on my car, I'm a big fan .
The item I have is a TRD Fuel Cap Cover, item 77315-SP000. The item is not a full gas cap replacement, it's just a cover that attaches to your existing gas cap with adhesive (see pics below).
Here's a picture of the cap in the package.
Picture of the back of the cap showing how it attaches. The two white half-moon strips are where the adhesive patches are.
And finally... how it looks on the car.
One piece you'll have to figure out is if there is a leash on your cap, how that will work.

I like the leash connector on the 2IS cap wouldn't like to lose it for a ricer cap that's for sure if the TRD stick on one lets you keep the leash then that might be worth looking into for me. I also like the stock cap because it's really easy to secure unlike caps on some other cars that require you to twist extra hard to get it to click.

I can't believe there are people really replacing the valve stem caps because I think it is a bit rice when doing it on a Lex (I mean those ones with Lex logo that are offered on FleaBay).
Thanks, but ME STAY A AWAY the tire valve cap.

It seems like the TRD cap is only a piece of metal snap/stick over the existing one in our 2IS. Hmm... interesting!
I will call Lex dealer for the part number on the cap and ask Toy dealer to do a matching for the TRD snap-over cap.
Will let you know if that works!
