Default 6000K HID/Fog Light Questions

To those who have 6000K HID with blue Aero Tect film on your fogs, how does it look? I realize it's not a perfect match, but do you like it? Any pics? Did anyone install bluish bulbs for fogs?

I have the exact setup you want.. 6000k xenon depot + aerotect blue fog films..

I applied aerotects film first.. this made the fogs look alot whiter. I dunno if you read the previous posts, but they do not make it bluer.. The blue is canceled out by the yellow halogen bulbs thus producing a whiter look.

Compared to stock halogens, they look whiter, and pretty good..

Then I put on the 6000k XD kit. Doing this made the fogs look even more yellow now since it's next to an almost pure white/blue light.

So in essence.. it won't match, and will be noticably off. The fogs do not look white at all, and are a bit yellowy. I suggest getting some polarg m4 as someone had mentioned before as they are extreme white. Maybe then it will have a blue effect from the film. I will probably do this in the future.

I'll try to snap some pics to show you the differences later tonight when it gets dark.

Guys. Please correct me. The bulbs (fog light) from luminicsbulbs.com are not HID right?
I assume that you can install HID for the two fog lights?

You just have to install a whole HID kit. It's not just changing out the 2 bulbs....

Cant you just change the bulb of the fogs to make them more white? I know they wont be HID but isnt it an easy mod to just change the bulbs to make them more white rather than forking up the doe?

yeah, that's a easy way to get around it. It's just going to be a pain to get to the bulbs. But there is a thread on how to access them.

Aren't there bluish bulbs available for the fogs? What is the highest available Kelvin on a non HID fog bulb?

I've seen them go all the way up to 12,000K.

If they go to 12K, then why not get 6K bulbs without HIDs? Is that possible? Where can I get good/reliable 6K non HID bulbs? Thanks.

What looks better, the yellowish fogs or the ones that closely match the HIDs?

Default Yellow because of 1st gen heritage

I like the yellows better because it pays homage to the original IS. It is awesome at night when one thinks that you are some 1st gen IS and BAM...350 for ya! Here in ATL, Ugly Acura's attempt to blend in but yellow for fogs is So LEXUS! If you can get matching 6000K regular or better yet actual HID fogs at 6000K then either setup looks hot. One thing is certain, the factory look with real HID low beams is gross.

For about $60 shipped, I got a pair of the PIAA crystal ion yellows. They burn at 300K or something but put out nice yellow hue. I have heard that the luminics yellow bulb is even brighter yellow, but my Piaa's leave a nice touch.

i have the luminics jdm yellow and it looks sweet!! I love the look, especally with the 6500k HIDs. they are pretty bright..only thing im worried about is that the yellow might fade over time since the bulb isent too high quality...
