My IS350's first time at the strip...
Also my first time at the 1/4 mile strip in about 5 years too.
It was miserably hot, about 93 degrees or so and I was running with VDIM on, Power mode on with no AC. I was car #5409, started in the right lane both times.
First run was against a modded Honda Accord, he had a ok start but then had some mechanical problems. I started from a dead stop, no tire spin, accellerated well and did fairly well overall.
Second run was against a Subaru Impreza WRX STI, I played around with starting with my RPM at 1500, caught some tire spin since there was some oil residue on the track but they immediately caught and smoothed out.
The tickets:
Had a great time overall, forgot what the adrenaline was like - I'm definitely adding the Joe Z intake soon and a K&N drop in filter when they become available for some easy HP gains.

hey Florida guys, I'm over in Clearwater and I need to take my car out to a 1/4 mile track. We should set something up where we can all meet and go to the track together. I think that would be pretty fun, what do you guys think?

The STI came off the line slow but it was extremely tight.
Next time I'm heading out to Orlando will be Friday, July 7th - although if we schedule a meet somewhere I'd be up for doing that.
Plus no one was going to run a 13.7 in a stock IS350 last night - it was 93 degrees out when I did my runs, I definitely see high 13s no problem with some cooler weather plus a better launch from me. Remember car is just over 1000 miles, and I haven't raced it before so with some more launch practice and cooler weather I see high-mid 13s being standard.

Hey nice to see another IS350 owner out there on the track! Your times look right for the conditions. Hot, not turning VDIM off, etc the times are what I would expect. When I ran with VDIM on and temps in the low 80's I couldn't get under a 14 second flat at 99.9mph. Turned VDIM off and it does instantly drop 3-4 10ths off the 1/4 mile. Most the the time drop is done in the 60'. VDIM off you can easily get 2.0 second 60' times instead of those 2.2-2.4 seconds, which in the end shaves the same amount off the total 1/4 mile time.
Oh and yeah, the STI driver probably just sucked, but then again a modified evo that was at the track with me was running the same time as me 13.6's but his trap speed was a few mph higher.

Since there's been some interest on meeting and running our IS', I posted a thread in the Florida forum:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...96#post1971796
About scheduling a meetup either Friday, 6/30 or Friday, 7/7 and maybe we can start a monthly or every other month meet.

The person in the STI did not know how to drive in that case because when i took my STI to the track i did 13.306 first time stock and added weight in my trunk. But i have been driving Subarus for over 6 years so i know how to lunch them good and it is very hard to do a good lunch with all wheel drive car
