you know, the same thing can be said for the charger location in the armrest. the design won't win any awards, it's not the best in the world, but you can make just about any ipod charger on the market work. if you just HAVE to have your favourite ipod charger, you can always utilize a low cost extension or adapter....it won't win any beauty contents and i know what little room we already have in this car (like in the back seat) God forbid we take up any more room in the little bitty armrest with extra cables and adapters. but you know what? it's just a tiny problem and in the entire scope of the whole car, it's really a non-issue.

we don't know why it came out to be the way it came out. if you already had 100,000 armrests in your parts warehouse and the lead designer said "make it work" else the october 2006 model won't come out until feb 2007, it would easy to conclude that you let this one go, use the less-than-optimal design, and put the car on the market; worry about fixing it on the 2007 or 2008 model. at the factory, i would have had the guy at the end of line reach into his pocket and pull out a extension cable/aux cable combo pack and drop it into every center console before i drove the car onto the truck/ship or even at port but i can see the lexus owner thinking this might be a bit tacky.
