Question for the suspension junkies...
Is it worth the $$$ to install a complete coil-over set or just go for sport springs - I just checked out H&R's website (http://www.hrsprings.com/site/index.html0 and they do have lowering springs for the 2IS - 1.3' drop rear and 1.4' front - this set is $369 - I suppose the real question would be whether the shocks are able to handle the sport springs - I assume the Sports package 2IS should be fine...

It all depends on how similar the springs are to stock.
Considerations:
1. Amount of drop: the more you drop it, the further you get away from where the shocks/struts were designed to operate.
2. Spring rates: how close are they to stock?
3. Are the stock springs linear or progressive and are the aftermarket linear or progressive rate springs?
4. Are the springs the same ratio of stiffness front to back? If the stock springs are 5 kgf/mm in the front and 6 kgf/mm in the rear, what happens when you put 5 and 5 or 6 and 5?
I think many people look at one particular aspect, which is of course, the amount of drop as their sole consideration. They could be in for a big surprise if/when the aftermarket springs are very different from stock.
When it comes time to pick a set of springs or coilovers, those 4 considerations will play a big part in my decision.
I'll probably end up going with a set of springs that are within 1" in height, 10% in stiffness and 10% in the differential, and go with linear springs. If this combo isn't available, it'll be a set of coilovers that are close to the stock spring rates in both regards with maybe a little more stiffness transferred to the rear to help with the understeer.

not all springs do that lexy250. lots of quality springs never settle, ala roadmagnet and others. you can drop your car safely with springs, usually ~1" is acceptible, sometimes ~1.5
