Any IS owner or potential buyer impressed with new ES 350?
Just wanted to know what you all think about the new ES 350? Any future potential buyers of the IS now considering the new ES 350? The horsepower is not much behind the IS 350. And for the same price you can get a much more luxurious vehicle, and get a car with a good amount of horse power. I know that these cars serve a completely different purpose. But, the horsepower and luxury factor of this car are absolutely great. For the value, it seems like a great buy. Not to mention that you can get it for the same price as a IS 350. Since I might be spending more than 40k, i thought i would like to hear some opinions. I always try to keep myself open to other cars.

I'll be going to check it out at a dealership brunch next Sunday. I'm sure it will be great looking. I just paid $2K to get out of my lease on one and buy the IS350. I'll be happy with this for the next few years. I'll be ready for another ES in about 20 years.

The New ES350 i think is muuuch better than the previous one. The L-Finesse thing Lexus has got going on makes me really excited to see all the new Lexus lines. However, thinking about ES vs. IS. I have to agree with everyone's comments and say that if ur looking for thrills the IS is the way to go. but if ur looking for practical family transport ES is the way to go.

I like the new ES, too, except I got to see in person the interior when it hits the showroom.
From the pictures, the wood trim around the shifter seems not to be as elegant as the one in the IS. Besides, the door pockets are the type which are fixed in position, which is a cost-cutting measure.

I like the new ES, and I've been recommending it to everyone that's looking for a good family sedan. However, it doesn't fit my needs at this time.
I want a sporty car that can be a bit more aggressive on the road, and the IS fits the bill. I do not need the extra room (single and no kids) so my IS is functional for me. When the time comes for me to need the space, I'll probably upgrade to something that would accomodate those needs. For now, nothing looks better than my IS (except for my Harley...).

The new ES looks good. Much better than the last generation.
No offense to any ES dirvers, but I've always pictured it as an "old woman's" car. Every time I see one on the road, it's always driven by an old woman..
On a slight tangent, the new LS looks awesome. If I had the money, I'd definitely go for a LS600hL over a new 7 seriers or S-Class.

not my taste...
The new ES would be nice if I wanted a usable rear seat. But I would rather have the IS because of it's smaller size and ride.
I'm honestly disappointed with the new ES design. Lexus had 3 home-runs in a row with the L-Finesse styling on the GS, IS and LS, but the new ES just looks mangled to me. Like a 1st attempt styling exercise they decided to put into production. It also needs more aggressive wheels. But, it's just my opinion.

If it still drives like a barge, then no.
Hopefully they have made some improvements in handeling.
As far a styling, it looks about the same as always to me. Headlights are more subdued now. I'm missing the L finesse on this one. I guess it's there. I just don't see it.
