New Camry
Anyone else seen the new Camry? It's an IS with better taillights.
I am so pissed. I did not want a 40k Camry. I was told that Toyota would not have a car sharing the same body as the IS. I believe I was lied to. The interior is even the same, just at tad uglier.
I still love my car, but I feel jipped.

I sat in a new Camry last week, it's nothing like the new IS other than general Toyota similarities that have always been there. From time to time people popped up complaining the 1IS looked like the Corolla.
They do not share the same body as the IS. The IS is a modified version of the 3GS body. If you want, buy a new GS and complain the IS looks just like it Camry is FWD, IS is RWD

If you honestly think the Camry and the IS bear any significant resemblance, either in terms of style or of chassis dynamics, then you really SHOULD have saved your money and just bought the Camry.

Looking at the pics of the new Camry on the Toyota website, all I see is a vague Toyota-family resemblance to the IS. Overall, I doubt anyone would ever mistake an '06 IS for an '07 Camry or vice versa. I certainly don't agree that the Camry's taillights are "better." I really love the IS's taillights.
On a broader note, some Lexus owners just seem to live in fear that someone will one day accuse them of driving a Toyota. I don't really get that--Toyota happens to make about the best-made cars in the world, both economy and luxury. That's enough to get my money. And every other major auto conglomerate today also has both economy and luxury marques. Don't worry; anyone who knows anything about cars will be well aware that getting the "L" cost you plenty of "$".

I parked next to it, they were the same dimensions, just different side windows in the rear, different folds in the sheet metal, and different taillights and front grill, of course I liked my IS better, as I said. I still love my car. I have an Is 350, so the main thing I love about it is the way it drives. But I hate camry's , just the name alone makes me nauseous. The fact that my car now resemble one pisses me off.

Beside the general (not exact) shape of the taillights for both cars, I see no other resemblance other than the fact that they are both sedans. They are also completely different types of cars. Have you ever heard of anyone comparing the Camry with the M3? That's why no one compares the Camry with the IS.
Might as well go through that whole list of comparisons again, such as a Corolla or Sonata...

But the Camry definately has a lot more legroom in the back, as well as shoulder and head clearance.

but toyota is doing it right latetly - i have noticed in few cars that front has less space than before, but back has a lot more. Thing is that you only need so much room up front to feel spacious. No need to overdo it..
