Default ISP Mode & G Spider as Light as Rays Volk Wheels?

When my IS250 arrives, I will replace the stock 17" wheels with 18" wheels.

I plan to install Rays Volk Rims, either CD28N, SF Winning or Gramlight 57FPro.

For Hub centricity, I am also considering Lexus original ISP Mode and G Spider rims.

Questions:

Are the ISP and G Spider rims as light as Rays Volk Rims?

Will the ISP Mode and G Spider rims offer equally good acceleration and handling as Rays Volks Rims?

Between the ISP Mode and G Spider, which performs better.

Thanks for the advice.

if youre worried about hub centricity you can always put in some hubcentric rings, many people here have volk wheels that fit fine. I dont think the OEM offered wheels will weigh any less than true aftermarkets nor do they look as good. Stick with aftermarket

Handling in terms of wheels you cant really argue that, obviously if you have OEM 17" vs aftermarket 18" the 18" is going to have a thinner and/or wider tire, and obviously there it outhandles stock but that gives more credit to the tires more than the wheels, the wheels accomidated the tires tho

grams are one of the lighter wheels in the industry and rays overall is probably the best lineup out there that you can buy...if you really want light go with ray/gram

Thanks for the very helpful advice.

To clarify, I am wondering if the handling and acceleration of the 18" ISP Mode will match that of aftermarket 18" Rays Volk Rims. Thanks!

The handling and acceleration will be better with the rays/gram because they are lighter. Will it be that much better, or better yet will you be able to tell the difference in performance and weight? Probably not. I got my volks on order and wouldnt even consider the OEM wheels because I think they are ugly. My .02

well the rays volks can accommodate wider and thinner tires when getting the proper size so you will get new tires and definately outhandle stock ISP. Volk wheels might not cost that much more than ISP wheels, plus they would look more custom for your car

Yellowssm I see you've ordered Volks, so when they come in weigh the front an back and I'll weigh my stock set later today, so we'll have some hard numbers.

Stock
Front=47.5 lbs
Rear=52 lbs

If you're worried about handling, I'd first look at a set of tires that could work on the car, and then the wheels. 18's tend to offer a wider range of options when coming to tires, but if you're worried more about straight line acceleration as opposed to lateral, just go for the lighter wheel that you like.

lighter wheels will perform better, but more $$$ too.

You can never go wrong with Rays as for tire... you really pay for that you get.

go with 18"s if you want big you have to go with 20"s.

19"s tire are usually more $$$.

market for 19"s is not that competitive compared to 18" and 20"s

Default ProDrive Vs. Volk

Will be going for ProDrive G010 18x8 instead of Volk CD28NF as the ProDrive is more readily available. I hear Volk and ProDrive are of comparable quality. Am I right?

Will it compromise the car's performance and handling if I reduce the offset to as little as +38? Not only does it look better, I hear stability improves due to a wider wheelbase. Are there any negative effects of this?

Thanks!

i highly doubt you will see any handling improvements from a mere change in offsets
