I was on the way home today. This guy in a brand new 325 was tailin me and cuting me off for what seemed like a long time. He would speed up then slow down and drive next to me. I changed lanes and just ignored him. This is the second time this has happened to me. Does this happen to you unwillingly ? Or maybe it just comes with owninga new car. I doubt the IS 250 could smoke anything but a civic.

A lot of people seem to just want to annoy me, check out the car, and WANT me to smoke them, probably just to see if the car really is as fast as they've heard. Mostly people that know they don't stand a chance. I generally won't take the bait though. It's kinda like carrying a loaded gun i guess, you have it, but you don't have to use it, and most of the time, you shouldn't. If I pull up to a turbo porshe or M3 or something like that, usually i have the respect for them to know that they can take me, so i will let them pass without acting like an idiot...
The one person i did race (sort of) was my little sister going up an onramp , she as a IS300. I was behind her trying to pass, that car really can hold its own!

I don't think a day goes by without someone pulling up to me and wanting to see what I've got... I don't really mind, it's fun spanking up on them.

Maybe it's just my paranoia of ricer Hondas beside me at stoplights, but I sense that some people do want to race with me. I guess that's a good thing as people respect the type of power the IS has under the engine, but they should realize that I got the car for luxury, not racing. I still gun it anyways and blow them away...

I haven’t had anyone do this to me yet. In my Sti and S2000's all the time but not the IS (aka anyone kid in a econo-car with a fart can exhaust). I think to 99% of the people out there they think its just a "Lexus" and don’t know th t it has 300+ hp. I'll be that I've shocked a few people myself off the line with a "brisk" acceleration.

Never happened.... because they see "AWD IS250" on my trunk and they know it's not even fast... lol.

I agree. AWD is so slow but I've encountered an A4 1.8T on my *** and I guess it comes with the territory.

I always seem to encounter this guy in a 05 or 06 silver TL on my way home from work. He def. has a MT and gives me a great run for my $$$$!

Gee, this is wierd. I have never had anyone try to race me. Or, for that matter even give my car a second look. I think people think it's just another Lexus/4 door sedan (which it is, I guess)
My previous car was a BMW Z3. That model was discontinued years ago, but I still got long-looks and comments from people. I kind of miss that.

so far.. here is my is350 hit list of wins / losses:

wins against : lotus elise (from stop), wrx sti (from roll), m3 smg (from stop & roll), lancer evo (from stop), srt-4 (from roll)
losses against: m3 manual (from roll)

several other m3s and evos are calling me out for this weekend. it must be the weather.
