Not a WRX, but owned a STI for about a year. Top speed governed at 155mph. Didn't take it above 120 - but there was no perverbial brick wall to speak of.

It pulls steadily, but nothing spectacular. Then again, accelerations are so smooth in the 2nd gen IS, you never realize how fast you really gather speed. So different from teh turbo cars I've owned.

+1

These a certain bridge that I get it up past 100 on every morning. Three lanes, no cops.. in the middle of nowhere. Love it.

However, the acceleration from 70 to 100 is great.. and from 100 to 130 is fairely impressive too for a car of this size.

my neighbor whose a senior with me at the same high school has two 05 subaru's, a 2.5 and an sti, and ive been over a hundred in both cars, where as the 2.5 struggles without his mods going over a hundred, his stock sti has a steady pull past a hundred with no hesitation.

No, the IS is electronically limited to 142 MPH. It you are seeing higher, it's speedometer error.

No, but it's been discussed in a few other threads here. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...5&postcount=22 The 142 figure is documented all over the place (brochure, owners manual, service manual, press kit, etc.), and since Lexus's spec allows the speedo to read 5% high, seeing an indicated 149-150 doesn't seem unreasonable.

I normally do about 140 mph all the time on the Motorway

Oh, I mean on the Autobahn, as I live in Germany, and as you know there is no speedlimit on them.

Don
