Here's a nice little read on VDIM
http://www.lexus-europe.com/technolo....asp?model=All
It also has a good list of other terms and techology anyone might have any questions about.

Why would you want to do that on an automatic luxury people mover

So who's done those moves in the U.S. with the IS350 and VDIM off? Got tired of seeing the 2IS'es doing a straight line.
Cheers,
Kermee
EDIT: Anyone else notice the Shark Fin on this IS350?

BLITZ Exhaust Video
This was kinda interesting. The video seems kinda weird because the timing appears to be off like some frames are missing. Sounds good though. Anyone know much about the Blitz exhaust? Also kinda odd that their speedometer only goes up to a 111.84mph converted from Metric.

It also does a lot more for a driver than just "move people". For all the BMW comparisons, it's a great sports sedan. Yes, it's a nice inside, but to me it's a far cry from a luxo-sedan.

Uh, in an actual emergency situation? No, but then again I only have 1200 miles on the ODO and thankfully have never been in an emergency situation. In times where I've had to excellerate out of trouble or brake somewhat aggressively, its been pretty non-intrusive. They car is well built and keeps a controlled line.
For fun? Sure, all the time, just floor it in a turn and feel the rear nicely step out. Or get too aggressive on the throttle and it'll do the same. Beautiful what 306 hp does to the rear wheels.

Good call that being said if your main aim is to drift there are also many better choices. Most Lexus IS buyers don't buy their Lexus for this purpose and this forum is only a small representation of buyers.

VDIM has kicked in for me quite a few times. But it always has been a good thing. Othere wise the car most likely would have hooked into the curb if full power was given. The thing about it though, it's so seductive and responsive, it still lets you out of the gate (beat on-coming traffic at a RED light turning RIGHT,) with little to no drifting. If the VDIM was off, I would not be able to beat the oncoming traffic, without alot of work from me. Plus when ever I want to do this, I make sure I have ECT Power on.
