Default IS the year's hottest seller so far

This won't really be news to people here, but I came across this article noting that the new IS is a "hottest seller" in terms of how fast they fly off dealer lots. (Sharing the "top 3" spotlight with Toyota relatives Prius and Scion tC.) Of course, as the article notes, the newness of the model accounts for part of it. But I don't see the redesigne BMW 3-series on the "hot" list.

By that you mean everyone has one, right?

One thing to note is that this report judges "hot" by how many days, on average, a particular car stays on dealer lots. So it's not a measure of how many cars are being sold, just how fast they are selling. So our cars are still rare, just in high demand. We will certainly start seeing lots more IS's around. But I doubt it will ever be that everyone will have one, just that everyone will want one.
