Good observation. In fact, my left rear window molding had two large detents due to the key lock box. I noticed one day while washing my car, the trim was jammed way up into the frame. No luck prying it back down myself. I mentioned the problem to my salesperson, who said yeah, he's aware, and they were eventually going to be doing away with those key boxes. I don't remember hearing greater than normal wind noise while the molding was distorted. But anyway, I had to have some body work done so I had the shop fix the molding while my car was in for service. The molding's back to normal now.

I've checked the molding and haven't seen anything out of the ordinary. If I have my music even at the slightest level, I can't hear the noise anymore so I'm going to live with it for now. I think with my particular issue, it might be expecting too much from the Lexus service shop to fix because I for the life of me can't find anything physically wrong with the molding. It might be that the 2IS is so quiet that with the radio off at at 70 MPH, you're should expect some "turbulence" noise near the B-Pillar.

Cheers,

Default wind noise on GX470

I've noticed at 50-75mph what seems to be an open rear passenger window type noise on 06 GX 470. Have checked all gaskets & seals and all appear to be ok. I wll bring it to the attention of the service dept on my first 5k check-up and hope I don't get the run around. Any tips anyone can give would be appreciated as this is my first L (former infiniti loyalist until M-45 disaster). Thanks for any advice.

I forgot about this thread.

If anyone is curious, I determined the wind noise is coming from the outside door handles.

Yes, the outside door handles. And there's nothing I can do about it other than covering it in tape. It's a known issue with some Lexus models, just not very publicized because it's really not that bad and I'm just being picky. (You can only hear it if the stereo is off).

Cheers,
Kermee
