Thought I would throw up a poll to see what people thought about the "default" setting that the DRL's cannot be turned off. (It's a C-Best/LPS option which can be turned off by the dealership with these instructions ).
Cheers,
Kermee
EDIT: The context of this poll is what you think about having the option of either turning on or off the DRL's yourself versus the DRL's being permanently ON by default even when you've set all lights to be OFF. I for one actually like the DRL's and would keep them on most of the time. When I drove my previous car, a '99 Mitsubishi Galant ES V6, I just turned the headlights on when I drove day or night. I'm just wondering how many people would rather have the option of being able to actually control the DRL's (e.g. through like the "Matrix" hack for disabling seat-belt chimes) then actually having to go to your dealer for them to deal with the LPS/C-Best options.
Cheers,
Kermee

I don't see why you would turn them off, I can't recall how many times I've almost hit someone, in broad day light, because they don't have DRL. Sure, some think it looks stupid, but I wouldn't turn them off when they could possibly prevent an accident.

If you almost hit someone in broad daylight simply becuase they did not have DRL's you're either a careless driver or need glasses. Especially if it has happened enough times for you to lose count.

Anything that I can do to make it less likely that the multitude of morons on the road will actually see me before turning left in front of me is a good thing. After a few decades of riding motorcycles, I'll take all the help I can get. DRL's

volvo did astudy back in the early 90's about having your headlights on during the daytime.
if i remeber correctly, they say you are 70-80% less likely to be involved in a collision.
DRL is a nice feature to have, especialy if you live in a hilly area or a place where people dont know how to drive (like in tennessee)

what's the bulb number again? 9005?I wonder if they make an LED replacement....I know its the hi-beam bulb that's used at a reduced intensity (in non-HID cars anyway), but I never use the hi beams (but don't want to just remove the bulb), especially with my new aftermarket HID kit.
