This site looks like it may be the only place in the U.S. to get one from: http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=2004

But it's $120! I will probably save myself a hundred bucks and settle for a more generic version: http://www.ajprindle.com/index.jhtml...navAction=jump

Yeah, my boss has one of the cheap ones in his vehicle, and it does look cool in person. And it really is a nicer solution than dangling a jacket from a hook or tossing it on the back seat. I went ahead and ordered one myself.

Could you please post a picture of it when you get it installed? I want to get one too but I'm afraid it will look cheap, I don't mind paying $120 for something that will look good, less expensive is better....but I don't want to have cheap wires coming off the back seat. Hopefully it will look nice and you can report how well you like it.

I'll try. But I'll warn you now, I'm a lousy photographer.

I promised to post a pic of the $20 hanger I ordered once I got it on my car, so here it is. So far, I'm undecided on whether to keep it. The hanger itself looks O.K., but it sits much higher up than I would prefer. I may yet break down and order the $120 OEM version.

Not to speak of, but you do catch it in the corner of your eye when looking back. It would probably take a while before you got so used to it that your eye would ignore it.

But I'm going to lose it. I really, really don't like how far it sticks up. And I don't think the look is going to grow on me. I think I'd rather have a few wrinkles in my jacket. I think this hanger would work fine in an appropriate vehicle--e.g., an SUV--but not really in the IS.

Isn't the hanger designed such that you open or position the hanger whenever you plan to use it? During day to day travel while not in use, the hanger is easily either repositioned or dismounted, no?

It can be dismounted easily enough, but it doesn't fold away or anything like that. It's basically one piece of wire with plastic brackets that attach to the headreast columns by virtue of the spring action of the hanger wire. I for one would find it too inconvenient to mount it whenever I needed to throw a jacket on it and dismount it afterward. That kind of rigamarole would, for me, defeat the main convenience purpose of having such a hanger installed. But that's a personal preference. If the mounting/dismounting would work for you, then it seems like a fine way to keep a jacket neat while saving $100 off the OEM version.
