Hey has anbody heard anthing about a trailer hitch being avalable for my IS350. I know the owners manual does't recomend using the car for towing. I only am going to be towing around 600 lbs. My waverunner.

I asked the same question, and my dealer told that currently for the US market, its not available. I also wonder if it will void the warranty, if I get an after market? I know in the UK Lexus page, they advertise the hitch, so why not recommend for the US market?

Any updates? I can't find anyone that makes a hitch of any rating. I'm about to just get a custom hitch welded in ...

Technically, I can see how a dealer can get away with voiding the warranty. Say if you go in for a transmission problem, and they notice you have a hitch setup... They can conclude that towing (which isn't recommended by lexus) caused the premature failure of the tranny.

AWESOME! Can we not order this internationally?! It doesn't say what size ball it has, but I'm guessing it isn't going to be a 2" ball. It says that it has a 1500 kg capacity, which I'm thinking is over 3000 lbs, right?

My theory on the warranty is that they couldn't really void it if the hitch is used for a bike rack or electric wheel chair. It would be VERY hard for them to void it without any detectable trailer wiring for lights.

On another note, dealers don't WANT to void warranties, since they get paid well by Lexus for warranty work.

Dealers actually do not care about warranty work. I dont know how Lexus works but I have a friend who's family owns a Mazda and Acura dealership and says that they just get paid for the labour cost of the repair. They don't make any money off warranty stuff.
