Disabling Tire Pressure Monitor '06 IS 250
I am new to Club Lexus and was referred by a friend. I just picked up my IS in 12/27/05. Just put on 19" Racing Hart J8's. Need to know how to disable the TPMS since Lexus in Hawaii doesn't know how. Will post pics soon. Just signed on today.

Will that also work to reset the "check system" light in the middle of the dash. I've been doing some aggressive driving and I can't get the "check TPMS system" light to go away. I've checked and re-checked all of the tires' pressures and there is nothing wrong.

Thamks to PhilipMSPT. I did as he replied and BEHOLD, no more check tire pressure. Only took it down the block and up to about 40 mph, so far so good. Will see tomorrow if permanent. Thanks again.

I was informed by the wheel shop, Eurosport in Honolulu, that because of the type of valve stem on the J8's (it's a right angle), they wouldn't be able to use the sensors. If the the 20 mile comment is correct, anyone know of a permanent fix. I was reading some of the other threads for the GX and LS series and they were referring to a box on the passenger side and describing a procedure to ground a certain wire. If anyone knows of the proper procedure, please post a reply. Need to be IS specific. Thanks.

Some folks have proposed a low-tech solution: putting all four sensors in a wheel barrow tire, inflating to pressure, and storing it in the trunk. Obviously the procedures you found for the GX and LS would be preferable, but I haven't read about anyone who has tried that approach.

Thanks Bichon, I've read about this solution. I think that I will try and hold out for anyone to post a permanent solution. Something about Lexus and a wheelbarrow tire in the trunk ...........
