Default My New IS350 w/ Rims, Tint and Now with Spoiler

I got my IS350 with Luxury Package and Nav from Mission Viejo Lexus. I'm loving the car so far. All my coworkers are asking me is that your IS350 in the parking lot. Even the boss wants to buy one now.

I would like to, but I don't want to loose the cushy stock ride. Any ideas on good coil overs that don't have too rough of a ride.

They're 19x8.5 in the front with +38 offset. The back are 19x10 with +45 offset. The front rub a little bit when I turn. It's strange, it's not rubbing against the fender but rather on the inside of the wheel well.

Then you don't want coilovers. Eibach will be releasing a set of springs soon for the New IS...one of my buddies who i will not name that posts here is the prototype car. Stick with the stock shocks and a conservative drop like the Eibach or even Tanabe...you will obtain the look/ride you want to keep.

They are rubbing because the wheel wells (and probably the whole car) are not designed/engineered for such modification. There must be a reason why Lexus' Research and Development spent countless dollars studying/testing the car before it went into production. Even the upgraded G-Spider wheels are not that big. I wouldn't do anything to expedite depreciation on such a fine vehicle like that. A Honda Civic.. maybe. Hope you still have all the OEM stuff when you resell the vehicle.

It's not that. He just has the wrong offset for the front wheels. Nothing wrong with plus sizing wheels/tires to differentiate the look. All of us do it here on CL at one point in time or another. Don't knock him for being different. I give him alot of credit for being one of the first to mod his new IS.

that's so wrong.... my gs400 came with 17x8, but now i am running 20x8.5 and 20x10.5 no problem. my sc430 came with 18x8, but now i am running 20x9 and 20x10.5. how do you explain?

granted, 10" in the back MIGHT be too wide, but it's not like lexus already max it out, and there is no document saying that 10" will not fit in the back of the new IS, yet.

Didn't mean to knock anyone off for being different. I'm giving him credit too.. those wheels cost and worth $$$. However, I just wanted to share my experience with modded vehicles. They lose value very quickly. I witnessed a friend selling his modded 2004 TL. Joe received lots of calls but when buyers heard of it being modded, they thanked Joe and hung up. Others who didn't know about the modification via telephone showed up, but didn't even bother to test drive once they saw the mod. What kind of mod did Joe have? Same kind of wheels/suspension mod like our brother viet658. During turns, Joe's front wheels were rubbing (against something) too.

A smart enthusiast who mods their car will:

1) Do their research throughly and have the work done with a qualified person with choosing wheels and having the parts installed on the car carefully. That's including putting the right wheel size/offsets on the car and either installing them yourself or having a qualified tech to do it.

2) You keep your stock wheels/suspension pieces.

My 2004 IS300 is modded with aftermarket suspension, wheels and bodykit. Are you saying I lose value to my car by modding it to my preferences and likes? Nope because I value the car more as I modded it to my liking. If I want to sell it, I have no trouble putting the stock parts back on the car and getting my moneys worth out of it all the aftermarket parts I took off prior to selling the car. It's plain and simple common sense.
