Default Official Gas Mileage Thread

Was wondering if someone could/would sticky this thread, so we can get a running talley of the mileage people are getting with the IS's, since real MPG is significantly lower than predicted.

I don't have an IS, yet, so I can't say what my experience has been. But if people would keep a running talley this info would be helpful to many folks.

If possible, use the following format when posting about MPG.

Model (250/350. If IS250 MT or AT)
MPG
%city / % highway (ie 80/20)
octane used
total miles traveled on each tank (not life of car)
any additional info (ie sport mode used etc...)

Using this format would help keep things easy to read and help not only let us know real world MPG but also how much octane/sport mode affects MPG.

Thanks

Model: IS250
MPG: 28
I have a little over 3000 miles on my car already

Every tank i fill up is a little above 15 gallons maybe 15.1 - 15.2 gallons. I get 420 miles on each tank. I do not run the car until it uses up all 17 gallons. I commute about 30 miles each way to work so 80% of my driving is highway although i do sit in traffic for the leg home.

91 octane

At the beginning of January I am driving my new IS from Colorado to North Carolina. I will keep track of my gas mileage and post my results then.....I think that will be a pretty accurate test for highway driving....anyone have any suggestions of good ways to keep my findings as accurate as possible?

One question for you all. Are you guys using the measurement off of the multifunction display? Or are you guys using simple arithmetics to do this?

Miles (driven)/ Gallons (filled) = MPG method is usually a better indicator than the averages and estimates the trip computer takes.

yea i noticed that too. My display actually showed that one tank of gas was getting me 31.2mpg but i was still only getting about 420 miles which divided by 15 is about 28.

Haven't paid attention to that. When I first got the car and took a long trip, all turnpike, I averaged about 26 mpg. I currently have about 1200 total miles on the car.

The 250 owners should indicate wheather AT or MT.

Biker, who is really curious to see real 250 MT milage figures.

Since there seems to be some confusion about total miles traveled, let me clearify. I mean total miles traveled on each tank. Not over the life of the car. It would be great if you could go 1500 miles on each tank, but that seems a little high. :-)

Personally, I can deal with 19/20 MPG but if you can only get about 250 miles out of each tank I would be at the gas station like every 2.5 days which is a pain in the ***.

I also agree with biker for the 250 to add MT v.s. AT. I'll update the original post with that.

Anyone else thinks this should be a sticky so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle?
