the i-jet uses an RF signal - and works great with armrest closed - I orgianlly bought it so that I could control the ipod in the house when I was out by the pool and it worked great for that - and that was in excess of 40 feet!!

Ok I realize you are specifically asking about the AUX input, but I'm just wondering why nobody has still mentioned the Vais Tech unit...

As much trouble as people are going through to hook up their iPods, why not just install a VAIS and be done with it? You've got superior control, clean install, and you can STILL use your Aux input for something else after installing it...

Currently in this thread is it inappropriate to recommend vais connectivity due to its complexity. These are basic users who are looking for casual connectivity and the aux connector with the correct cable would be most suitable. If they want to get fancy, a charger and/or remote would be helpful. Check out my thread for some great ideas.

basically just one small connector cable to plug the headset jack on the ipod into the auxillary port on the 2is.

Yes, the nano has the standard dock connector. I am currently using the nano with my vais connector.
